NEC SYMPOSIUM
Since the NEC Society’s inception, we’ve transcended limits and overcome barriers that have stalled the NEC community for decades. Together, we are making more progress, faster than ever before. We still have an incredible amount of work ahead of us and the 2023 NEC Symposium in San Diego helped bring us closer to our vision of a world without NEC.
Our conference engaged 200 participants from nine countries and 35 US states, with 20 educational sessions. The collaborations, research, and advocacy stemming from the 2023 NEC Symposium will reverberate in the NICU community for years. As we embark on new projects made possible through our 2023 meeting, this executive summary captures core goals, lessons, and initiatives for patient-families, clinicians, scientists, and others helping us build a world without NEC.
